Blake Beavan matched his career-best five strikeouts and walked none in 5.2 innings, but the two runs the Cougars scored against him in the 6th would be too much to overcome.
DH Renny Osuna (.383/.412/.532 in June) singled and doubled. Clinton’s bottom six were 0-21 with a walk.
Beavan put up more fly balls this outing than ground-outs. I don't know if doing it the other way around would have helped, simply because the lack of run support... yeah, this is one where you say the other team just played a better game and move on. Johnny Out.
