Low-A: Clinton 5, at Peoria 6: Clinton is 6.5 games out of first.
Loss: Turner (5-3, 3.05)

Blake Beavan had a superb game, going 6.0 innings, only allowing 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 5 and only walking 2. Beavan now has an ERA of 2.50. Jorge Quintero and Ryan Turner would blow it, though. Quintero allowed two runs on five hits and one walk in 1.1 innings and Turner allowed three runs on five hits in just one inning.
Justin Smoak had a good major league debut for Clinton, as he went 1 for 3 with a walk and a run, the one hit being a double. Davis Stoneburner (.248/.303/.397) went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI’s and a run. Kyle Murphy (.208/.300/.250) went 2 for 4 with an RBI.
He's getting the ground ball/fly ball lowered again, however it isn't quite like it has been in the past. He's still more effective, though. Only one run (a homerun) off of three hits and two walks. Beavan's next start will be on Sunday against the Kane County Cougars.Home Plate
