Ranger Free Agents

I do like the chase that is involved in the free agent market. That's why I have so many posts about them...

Anyway, here are the free-agents coming from the Rangers camp this off-season. (Note: in no particular order.)

#1: Hank Blalock (B)
#2: Milton Bradley (B) - rumor says he is seeking a $10 Million a year contract for four years.
#3: Jason Jennings
#4: Ramon Vazquez
#5: Jamey Wright

Whether the Rangers end up resigning Blalock or not is still to be determined. Both him and Bradley would be nice to have back, but getting both of them is highly unlikely. Blalock is more of a fan favorite in Texas, so he is the better candidate to return than Bradley. Look for Bradley to get something in the way of a 8 Million dollar deal for two or three years and not four years, 10 per... still, stranger things.

Mark Teixeira will more than likely hit the free agent market, with high hopes of him going to the National League (that's me saying this, not him).

Michael Young won his first Gold Glove this season.

The Rangers are fielding more calls on their catching stock, so many, it is ridiculous. The Rangers will definetely make a trade, and definitely grab some pitching for it... they have the catchers, they have the control. And believe me, JD is going to make the best call on this one.

Rangers exercised their option on Blalock - he'll remain a Ranger for another season! Yeah!
