Beavan vs Inland Empire

High-A: at Bakersfield 4, Inland Empire 6 (12 innings)
Loss: Lueke (0-1, 1.17)

Bakersfield trailed 3-1 in the bottom of the 9th despite a another very strong performance from Blake Beavan, who walked none and struck out five while allowing two runs (one earned) in seven innings. Since a nightmarish outing on May 2nd, Beavan has a 2.17 ERA, four walks and 16 strikeouts in 27 innings.

Ian Gac followed a Joey Butler walk with his 4th homer of the season to tie the game. The 66ers scored in the top of the 10th, but Mitch Moreland again knotted the score with a solo homer, his 8th. Inland Empire plated two in the 12th that the Blaze couldn’t match.

Moreland (.345/.415/.600) also doubled and walked. SS Renny Osuna (.265/.327/.340) drew three free passes and doubled.
