An 11:00 AM start failed to rouse the offense from its slumber. 2B Matt Lawson went 3-4 with a double, but his eight teammates reached safely a grand total of five times. Let Lawson (.368/.429/.526) join Joey Butler (.368/.520/.526) in the Cool Kids Club. The rest are batting .156/.227/.211, and Frisco has scored nine runs in six games.
Blake Beavan (3.27 ERA) pitched pretty well overall but paid dearly for his mistakes. In five innings, Beavan allowed just five hits and a walk while striking out three. He also picked a runner off first. Unfortunately, two of those five hits left the premises and scored three runs.
In the 6th, Clay Fuller homered off reliever Ryan Falcon with the bases full. Tanner Scheppers fanned three in two innings but allowed Brian Walker’s second homer of the day.
